Our Goals and Plan

These are very exciting times to be an alumni association.

Societies and the world are changing fast, creating new kinds of challenges for all; challenges that the next generations will be called upon to address. In such an environment, a top rate academic education system is of strategic importance to societies. But technology, business and societal developments such as AI, global competition and social networks make the task of designing and introducing change that will be relevant and useful to our youth so much more difficult.

To contribute to these challenges, we have set three main goals for HAAUGLA:

  1. Be of maximal utility to our youth and members by better understanding their needs and employing tools and methods they recognize as useful

  2. Support and promote the relationship between Greek society and the University of Glasgow in matters of mutual interest

  3. Contribute with the help of the University to the development of a better education system – one that accounts for new tools and methods of learning, that our students will be happy to join and that will produce fulfilled and productive citizens

In support of these goals, we publish our Strategic Goals and Plan document that we update on a regular basis. This document presents our main assumptions and axioms relating to the current environment and then lists related goals, instruments and target time horizon for each.

Feel free to download a PDF version of our Strategic Goals and Plan document – we would be honored for any comments/reaction you care to share with us.
